16-Channel Acoustic Emission System Delivered to IAEA in Austria

Overview

International Atomic Energy Agency selected Quakelogic to supply a 16-channel Acoustic Emission (AE) Monitoring System to support advanced structural health monitoring and diagnostics in high-safety and nuclear-related applications.

The project involved the delivery and configuration of a high-speed, multi-channel acoustic emission system designed for real-time signal acquisition, onboard processing, and advanced structural integrity analysis.

Quakelogic successfully delivered the system, ensuring full operational readiness and alignment with the agency’s strict performance, reliability, and safety requirements.


Delivered System – 16-Channel Acoustic Emission Monitoring Package

Complete system included:

  • 16-Channel High-Speed Acoustic Emission Data Acquisition System
  • Advanced Æmission Digitizer/Recorder Unit
  • High-resolution acquisition:
    • 1.25 MSps at 18-bit resolution
    • 5 MSps at 16-bit resolution
  • Embedded FPGA-based onboard signal processing
  • Real-time data streaming and recording capabilities
  • Acoustic emission sensors and integration components (as per configuration)

  • Detection of micro-events and stress-induced emissions
